My Visit To Breakfast Television

I had the honour of shadowing the makeup artist from Breakfast Television and CityLine, Tracy Peart, yesterday.  For those of you who are not from the Greater Toronto Area, Breakfast Television is one of our local news/morning programs, and CityLine is the show that immediately follows it, which is a lifestyle type show (home, food, fashion, etc.).

I was not only able to get a glimpse into the world of television makeup, but I also got a behind the scenes look at television production.  It was absolutely fascinating!

I had the pleasure of meeting some of the on-air personalities, as well as some of the behind the scenes people who make the show what it is.

This is a picture of me with Kevin Frankish and Dina Pugliese, the hosts of Breakfast Television, on the set:

Kevin has been in the television (specifically news) industry for over 20 years.  Dina has also been in this industry for a number of years.  She has hosted a variety of shows, including entertainment and fashion related programs.  I personally like to think of her as Toronto's very own style icon.  She looked gorgeous even at 6am with no makeup on and freshly washed hair.  And hey, Frank didn't look so bad himself ;)

Tracy has been in the makeup industry for over 10 years!  She has experience in various makeup related industries such as retail, film, fashion, television, etc.  It was so lovely to spend the morning with her.  She taught me a lot about the makeup industry and about her experiences starting out.  She even introduced me to some new products!  Check out Tracy's blog here: http://tracypmakeup.squarespace.com/

I also met the lovely Tracy Moore, host of CityLine.  I didn't get a picture with her because she had to run straight from the makeup room downstairs to start the show!

Thank you to everyone at City TV who welcomed me into their world for the morning.  It was truly an experience to remember and cherish.
