Famous Face: KELLY OSBOURNE

I have been a fan of Kelly Osbourne for quite a while.  I have a lot of respect for her bold and unabashed personality.  I initially became a fan of hers years ago during her stint on "The Osbournes", a reality show featuring her famous family.  It wasn't cookie-cutter, and I liked that.  It was different than anything on television at the time.  Though Kelly has been through a whirlwind of ups and downs in her life, she has grown into a very respected woman in her industry.  Not only as a singer, but as a television personality and fashion icon.

Keep reading for more awesome facts about Kelly Osbourne.

Kelly Michelle Lee Osbourne was born on October 27, 1984 in Westminster, London to Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.

Kelly was a part of the reality television show "The Osbournes" from 2002 to 2005.  In 2002, the show won an Emmy for "Outstanding Reality Programme".

Kelly has had a successful singing career, releasing 2 albums; Shut Up and Sleeping In The Nothing.  She also released various singles such as Changes, a duet with her father, Ozzy Osbourne.

In 2009, Kelly release her first book, Fierce, an autobiography.  I had the pleasure of reading Fierce and found the stories Kelly had to tell fascinating.  The book was just like Kelly's personality...take no prisoners!

Kelly was also a contestant on Dancing With The Stars in 2009 and came in 3rd place with her partner, Louis van Amstel.

In recent years Kelly has earned much deserved respect in the fashion industry.  She is one of four co-hosts of the E! hit show, Fashion Police.  She is also the spokeswoman for the fashion line, Material Girl, by Madonna and Lordes Leon.

Needless to say, Kelly Osbourne has built a successful career for herself and I'm excited to see what she does in the future.

Famous Face: IMOGEN HEAP

Imogen Heap is by far my favourite artist.  I am a die-hard fan.  Her music is something other than just music.  There's so much depth to her work.  I can listen to her music over and over again and never get tired of it because there's something new to discovery somewhere inside of it each time.

The first time I heard Imogen was in the song "Let Go" which was by her then duo group, Frou Frou, in the movie Garden State.

Imogen has a unique style when it comes to her music, and also when it comes to her look.  I respect her sense of style very much.

Check out some pictures of Imogen below, as well as some fun facts!

Imogen Jennifer Jane Heap was born on December 9, 1977 in the London borough of Havering.

She is Grammy award winner.

Although she is a solo artist, she teamed up with Guy Sigsworth to create one album, Details.  They called themselves Frou Frou.

What sets Imogen apart from a lot of other artists is that she not only sings, but she writes, produces and mixes all of her own music.  She is classically trained in piano, cello and clarinet.  She also taught herself to play a number of other instruments, including some less known instruments (and some of my favourites) such as the mbira and the hang.

Drew Blyth Barrymore was born February 22, 1975 in Culver City, California.  Drew was born into a family of actors.

She made her first appearance in an advertisement at 11 months old.  She made her film debut in 1980.

In 1982, she starred in E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.  This was her breakout role.

My New "Famous Faces" Series

Hey everyone!

I have decided to start doing a blogging series on "Famous Faces".  Basically, this will entail me blogging about someone famous, either to show their amazing makeup, or to discuss the impact they have had on the makeup and/or fashion industries.

I'm not sure if this will be a weekly, monthly, or whenever the heck I feel like it thing, but I'm definitely excited about it!

Once the Famous Faces series gets under way, give me your feedback and let me know what you think!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil

I recently started using the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil in "Rehab" and I'm quite impressed.

This is a thick "pencil", if you can even call it that..."crayon" seems to be more of an appropriate term if you ask me.  It has a smooth texture that is much creamier than a pencil.

Urban Decay offers a variety of colours in this product.  I tested a number of them out on my hand in the store and I just couldn't resist buying "Rehab".

Rehab is a brown/gold shimmery colour that adds a bit of glamour to an everyday natural look.

I would definitely recommend the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils.

The only downside is that, like a lot of Urban Decay products, they are a little pricey.  One of these pencils will run you $20 in America and $24 in Canada (prices from www.sephora.com).  Despite this fact, I still highly recommend almost all Urban Decay eye products.  Their shadows, for example, are some of the most pigmented and silky-smooth shadows I've ever used.

Check out this quick video of me putting this product to work:

Carmindy's Natural Highlighter

For those of you that are unaware, the makeup artist from the hit TLC show “What Not To Wear” has partnered with Sally Hansen to create an affordable line of cosmetics called “Natural Beauty inspired by Carmindy”.  You should be able to find these products at your local drugstore.
Until recently, I had not tried any of Carmindy’s products.
Tracy Peart, the makeup artist from Breakfast Television and CityLine, introduced me to Carmindy’s Natural Highlighter.  Tracy swears by this product in order to create a beautiful and natural highlight on top of the cheek bone.  She prefers it to other highlighters because she has to work with HD television and it creates a subtle glow without overpowering the face.  HD shows everything!  Tracy was even quoted in the September issue of Chatelaine Magazine about how much she loves this product.
I ran out and grabbed Carmindy’s Natural Highlighter and I am a believer.  It is cream highlighter with a lovely consistency that creates a subtle, natural glow.  If I’m going for a more dramatic highlight, I use MAC’s Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle, but if I’m going for something a little more subdued, Carmindy’s Natural Highlighter is where it’s at.
